VSP reaches out to homeless students

Thank you Vision Service Plan (VSP) in Rancho Cordova for your support of the Project 680 Shoe Drive over the past several years. VSP employees have gone out of their way to support Project 680, and we really appreciate it. This year alone there were two employee bake sales led by VSP employee Sara Bolchi, and we are so grateful for the $1,284 that came in from these bake sales. 100% of these funds will go directly to purchasing new shoes for homeless students in the FCUSD in both Rancho Cordova and Folsom.

Way to go, VSP!!!

VSP Vision Care raises $611.80 for Project 680

It’s a real joy to announce great news that VSP Vision Care in Rancho Cordova held an office bake sale yesterday and they raised $611.80 for Project 680. This was a complete surprise and a huge blessing. We are very thankful for the generosity of employees at VSP for taking a stand for local homeless students. Thank you also to Sara Bolchi for her leadership role in pulling off this bake sale. Way to go VSP!!!

Andy Gee’s Green Screen

Our friend Andy Gee, who works for VSP in Rancho Cordova, helped us shoot a couple “hoody drive” videos today using a green screen at his workplace. We’ll roll out the videos very soon, but for now we wanted to send a big public thank you to Andy and VSP, as well as share one shot of us giving a hard look (well, most of us are looking tough. Charlene is just too nice and cannot give a hard look even when trying).  :)

VSP + Underwear = Happy Local Kids

vsp-logoWe found out today of some VSP employees who are collecting underwear for the Project 680 Underwear Drive. “VSP” is a vision care company based out of Rancho Cordova. One of their employees found out about Project 680 from her father who lives in a local neighborhood. Thank you to a handful of VSP employees for partnering with us and collecting whatever amount of underwear you end up collecting. We appreciate you and we think it’s great that you are responding to a need that you just learned about.

When people and groups like VSP respond to the underwear drive, we get excited because it means that local homeless students are being thought of and cared for in a very relevant way. And that’s something to really smile about, isn’t it?

We welcome other local businesses and organization to get involved within the next two weeks. Let’s keep going!!!
