A thank you from Trish Antonetti of FCUSD

Trish Antonetti of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District thanks donors who stepped forward during the Project 680 Hoody Drive. There is an enormous list of local residents, organizations, churches, and businesses in Rancho Cordova, Folsom and beyond who made this possible. Congratulations to everyone on collecting 687+ hoodies and for advocating for local homeless students in this practical way.

The Project 680 hoody drive raised 687 hoodies!!!

Last night was an amazing night of celebration in our community as local residents, churches and businesses gathered at City Hall in Rancho Cordova to count hoodies for homeless students. We are extremely pleased and excited to officially announce we met our goal of 680 hoodies. Yes, we have counted 687 hoodies so far!!! Isn’t that great news?

It’s been amazing to watch the community rally together for the sake of homeless students in the Folsom Cordova School District. Thank you for your support, whether big or small. You made a difference, and we are very grateful you are a part of the Project 680 team.

Here is a brief video to give you a glimpse into last night’s festivities. We’ll post more news, thank yous, and many more details in coming days. If you have pictures, video or stories to share, please do so here or on our Facebook page.

P680 Hoody Bandit at First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks

There is a masked Project 680 hoody bandit on the loose at First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks. We heard about this person through email and we don’t even know this person’s name (yet). This unknown advocate has told two other Bible studies groups about the hoody drive, which has stirred others to gather a trunk full of hoodies that will be dropped off by our finale celebration on Wednesday.

We don’t know who you are, but we sincerely thank you.

    A Project 680 fan from the womb…

This photo was submitted today and it’s all kinds of awesome!!! Thank you Olivia for your submission for the Project 680 photo contest.  You must be doing something right if your baby is already taking care of the needs of others in difficult circumstances.

You still have until October 25, 2010 to submit your photos (up to 6). Winning shots will be displayed at Rancho Cordova City Hall at our celebration party on October 27, 2010. The celebration will go from 4:30-7:00pm. Come and enjoy some coffee, cupcakes, drop off hoodies if you have any, meet new people, rub shoulders with some council members, and see the winning photos. Drop by for a few minutes, stay the whole time to mingle, volunteer to help us pull off the event, or just come between the main finale between 6-7pm. Winners will begin being announced by 6pm and there will be six winners. The community will also select another photo during the event as a “people’s choice award”.

Two weeks left to gather hoodies for the homeless

We have about two weeks left in the Project 680 Hoody Drive. Let’s keep going strong in our goal to collect 680 hoodies for homeless students in the Folsom Cordova Unified School District. We think we have 200 hooded sweatshirts collected thus far (at the most).

Why are we doing this? After talking with the Liaison for Homeless Services, she let us know that kids in her caseload need hoodies, so this latest project makes really good sense.
