Celebration of Faith benefits Project 680

This is cool event tomorrow hosted by the Cordova Community Counciland we’re excited that the organizers chose to help benefit local homeless students. The faith community in Rancho Cordova has been a big factor with our efforts. We’re thankful to be a team together.

Flashback to Caddyshack Golf Tournament to Benefit Project 680

The Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce is putting on a golf tournament on October 1, 2010 called “Flashback to Caddyshack”. They have limited space for this annual tourney. Call Dawn Hall at 916-273-5703 for an application.

Why are we mentioning this? Good question. We are very pleased to announce that Project 680 will benefit from some of the proceeds of this tournament since the Chamber of Commerce selected us as their charity. Great news, huh?

Good luck golfers!!!

Hoody Drive coming soon

A quick update. After conversation with the District Liaison for Homeless Services and discussion with the Project 680 Board, we’ve decided to do a hoody drive in the Fall of 2010 for our first semester project. We’ll also be focusing on a Shoe Drive in December as we did last year, but our big community emphasis will really be to gather a certain amount of hoodies for local homeless students. Details will unfold in the next few weeks and we really want to make this something celebratory and participatory for the community.

Thank you everyone for your support. Let’s continue to find practical ways to advocate for local homeless students in the FCUSD!!!
